Quality Hardwood Flooring is run by two brothers, Ken and Larry Varnes. For over a decade they have been working directly with homeowners across central Pennsylvania, Harrisburg to State College, turning worn, dated, or brand-new subfloors into hardwood floors built to last for generations.
Quality Hardwood Flooring is a small, family owned company based in Mifflintown, Pennsylvania. Brothers Ken and Larry Varnes have spent more than ten years installing, sanding, and finishing hardwood floors for homeowners across the area, with local crews trained in house to NWFA standards.

Our crews are local people, passionate about their trade, and trained in house to the standards and guidelines set by the National Wood Flooring Association. That means the same care goes into every job, whether it is a single bedroom or a whole house, and the people showing up at your door are the same people we would trust in our own homes.
Most of what we do is residential, so we are used to working in lived-in homes with families, pets, and schedules to work around. We walk you through every decision, keep the job site clean, and make sure the project runs as smoothly as it can from the first estimate to the final coat.

We visit and listen
Ken talks it through with you on the phone first, then comes out, looks at the space, and goes over what you want, from species and stain to how you use the room.

You get a straight estimate
A written quote covering materials, labor, and timeline, explained in plain language with no surprises tucked into the fine print.

Our crew does the work
Local, NWFA-trained installers handle prep, installation, sanding, and finishing while keeping the rest of your house clean and livable.

We tell you what the job will take, what it will cost, and why. If something changes once we open up a floor, you hear about it from us before any extra work happens.

Every crew member is trained in house to National Wood Flooring Association guidelines for installation, sanding, and finishing. Good floors come from good technique, not shortcuts.

We work in occupied houses every day. We protect your furniture and finishes, control dust, clean up at the end of each day, and leave your home the way we found it, only with better floors.
04. Work we stand behind
A hardwood floor should outlast the people who installed it. We do the prep work properly and finish it right, and if anything is not to your satisfaction, we come back and fix it.

When you call Quality Hardwood Flooring, you talk to Ken. He handles every quote, and Larry leads the crew on site, so the brothers are involved from the first call to the last coat of finish.
